Comments I do not know if you can call this a dive since you are inside a cage. Air was supplied through hooka.
After a week of poor weather, I finally received a call that the dive was a go the following day. The sea was still angry, but the wind had abated somewhat. Departure was 0700 from the dock. The trip out to Seal Island took approximately one hour. There were nine other divers on the boat. Experience raging from zero dives to licensed divers. Each diver was given a wetsuit and hoodie appropriate for the cold water, 15C. I can tell you it was the coldest water I have ever put my face into. We were divided into two groups, five in the cage at a time, for a 20-minute experience to see the sharks. Standing in the cage was difficult due to the swell and waves as the cage banged up against the side of the boat.
This was not the season for Great Whites, but the beautiful Bronze Whaler made a good showing along with other more common sharks.

UW Photo Comments I tried to use my camera, but I was hanging on to keep upright, so unable to get any worthwhile shots. The best idea in the above conditions was a waterproof iPhone case hung around your neck. Turn it on and let it run all the while you are in the water.
