American Underwater Photography Team Cleans Up Again

The team prize at the World Shootout underwater photography competition, with winners announced in January, was won for the second year running by an American group led by Renee Capozzola, a biology teacher from Los Angeles, CA. Other team members were Jeffrey Milisen (Kona, HI) and Ron Watkins (New Hope, PA). They won a $10,000 trip to PNG, staying at the Walindi Plantation Resort and the Lissenung Island Resort.

The idea of the team event is to demonstrate a wide-ranging virtuosity in underwater photography -- a challenge, Capozzola said, that was not to be underestimated. She also won the individual prize of $1000 as USA's Photographer of the Year.
