The Island of Grand Turk is a Great place to get away from the busier islands. At least it was up till the time The cruise ship arrived. I liked the small frendily feeling you get on the island and feeling of being in a safe and secure location. Oasis divers was next door to the Salt Racker inn. Which is a small but nice place to stay. Modest accomadation but well run. The diving operation is well run and the dive master I had was very knowegable of the area and briefed us completly prior to every dive. We had only six divers on our boat and it seemed that most other boats had no more than eight. Getting to the wall took only minutes. Saw hump back whales, giant eagle rays, turtles, nurse shark,The walls and coral are great and vis was 60-150 ft. Nite life is relaxing food is good. I plan many trips back I only hope is the cruise ships do not ruin a good thing. |
