Overall Rating

Since we stayed at Beaches for a family reunion, we wisely chose not to
dive with them but to go with Big Blue. It's a superb operation. The cost
is a good 50% higher than other island dive shops but one can dive one's
own profile with no sense of being hurried and the surface intervals were
long and filled with food. Our dives averaged 75 minutes. Big Blue is also
an environmentally active company--a green operation--and thus worth the
extra money.
The corals in Provo have clearly suffered from algal growth, probably
linked with the number of large hotels and condos built in the past few
years (with their sewage and waste); there were fewer big fish than in
years past (I've dived there since the late 1980s). Although I have warm
memories of Provo diving, it has clearly deteriorated in the past 15 years.
