Comments Based on reviews here and on Trip Advisor, I chose this resort/dive company for my trip to Indonesia in 2012. I stayed at Two Fish's Lembeh and Bunaken resorts for a total of 12 nights last summer. This is my idea of a perfect resort. Readers should note that I hate five star hotels. I stayed in the deluxe cottages at both resorts. The deluxe cottages have a queen bed plus twin bed configuration. The rooms are very comfortable, if simple. Since the last reviewer (in 2009) hot water has been brought to the resorts. The Bunaken resort now has a swimming pool to facilitate their dive training operations. Bathrooms are large. Deluxe cabins have their own large bottled water dispensers in the rooms. All rooms have plug-in bug repellers which seem to work very well. I was there in late May and June and fans (ceiling and others) worked well for cooling at night. I was never overly warm. If you stay in the deluxe cottages, in the mornings you will receive hot water in a carafe on your patio to make tea and/or coffee before breakfast. These are all-inclusive resorts so all meals are included. Food was, if not gourmet, very good and I put on weight while I was there. A decent selection of beer at the outdoor bar was reasonably priced, especially the local beer which was very good. Wine selection was extremely limited.

Service at this resort was remarkable and some of the best I have experienced anywhere. At Lembeh I had a dive guide all to myself (no extra charge -- small groups are their philosophy). Leo at Lembeh worked tirelessly to find me subjects to photograph and we saw pigmy seahorses on several dives as well as all the other critters Indonesia is known for. Chris at the Bunaken resort was equally dedicated. When you return from your long, leisurely dives, the crew on the boats have hot tea (Indonesian and very good) fruit and cookies waiting for you. Operation is extremely commited to safety and to guests having the best experience possible.

The resort remains one of the best values in this area. You don't have to be wealthy to experience Indonesia! I stayed in deluxe cottages and could easily afford the single supplement which is normally outside of my budget capabilities. If you are really on a budget, the budget rooms with shared bath and the standard cottages are other options. One of the other divers let me see his standard cottage and it seemed comfortable. For amount paid you get a lot. I can't wait to go back -- a long haul from Southern California -- and hope to return in about two years.
