Comments Good:
Ecological perserve where fishing is limited to native handline.

Some of the most dramatic reef structure (walls/pinnacles), coral coverage/diversity and fish density I have seen in the Caribbean. Beautiful Sea fans, gorgonians, Elk horn, Stag Horn, LPS, sponges. Visibility at the 40 min out "Banks" dive sites was 100+ foot. Most sites with 15 min boat ride from the dock (but with 50-60 foot viz). Macro subjects were excellent: Harlequin Pipefish, White Nose Pipefish, Pipe Horse, Nudis/Sea Slugs, Squid and Octopus. Not much big stuff. A few eagle rays, one nurse shark, one turtle but many huge Snapper/Groupers. House reef is 5 min kick out from dock in extremely calm water bordered turtle grass and makes an excellent place for new divers.

The accomodations/resort is small and charming. Open Air, screen windows, and mosquito nets. Extremely quiet, very little boat traffic. Lots of wildlife, iguana, humming birds, crabs right by your room.

Food was solid, including some lionfish killed that day. Cash bar.

Bad:
No AC, but Fans. Cool enough at night. I was bitten by sand fleas while sleeping, though I was the only person affected. Deet was moderately effective. I wish I had researched and brought with me more products for combating them.

On some sites there were lionfish, however unlike the Bahamas they do not appear to have had the devasting effect on fish populations. Perhaps the abundant snapper and grouper populations have kept them down?

Overall rating for UWP's 4 stars Shore Facilities N/A
UW Photo Comments Macro subjects were excellent. Boat had a small fresh water bin and freshwater rinse hose. No special shore facilities to speak of. There was not a photo/video professional amongst the staff, however staff were responsive and versed in dealing with UWP.
