Comments We had a great time diving and enjoying Utila. Utila has great reefs, some very good wall diving, and lots of diversity. This was our second trip and we found Gunter's to be very accomodating to us. There is not a lot of Americans on the island and the Europeans tend not to tip so a tip or two goes along ways in getting great service. Our party of seven had our own boat for 8 days of diving. The shop really made us feel like part of the family. No, we didn't see any whale sharks. <sigh> Though, we saw many interesting things, IE huge morays, eagle rays with their 8ft tails intact, lots of little critters.

We stayed at the Sandy Bay Beach House and saved a ton of money on housing expenses. We ate at the local restruants and luncherias every day and found them not only very inexpensive, but good.

Utila is a very, very good bargin if you stay away from the resorts. Probally the lowest cost option in this hemisphere. We will be glad to return in the near future.
