AKR is a Top Notch Resort; everything runs like a well oiled machine and if
there is a glitch -it's worked out quickly without hesitation or excuses.
The staff (all of them!!) are extremely friendly and helpful.

Accommodations are nice, comfy, clean and well kept (we had a Key Superior
room). The food was plentiful and above the norm, more like high end
restaurant than dive resort. Delicious, creative - hats off to the chef
and staff.

The dive operation is among the best I've dove with. The dives were fun
and interesting... dive topography reminded me of a combo of Cozumel and
Maui. Not many small fish but lots of the large grouper and jew fish that
were in Cozumel years ago. Several spotted eagle rays and turtles - easy,
enjoyable diving. GREAT boats, ample room, never overcrowded. Captain was
friendly and helpful (Roger on the "Haydee") and if you get an
option, ask for Calderon as your DM ... he was great! He was always on the
lookout for interesting things to show you but let us dive our own
profiles. The dolphin dive was enjoyable (some divers expected to much and
were disappointed...these are not puppies!)

As anticipated, the 'no see-ums' were out in force, however, if you use
repellant with at least 40% deet... you'll be fine. Be sure to spray it on
and then spread it around with your hands. They WILL find the
1"x1" square that you missed!!

Can't say enough good about AKR.... so happy that I finally got there.
