Eden Beach Resort - very nice facilities, great beach bar (Bongos), and fantastic dive shop (Wannadive Bonaire). I used the city center dive shop location rather than the resort location because I was taking Advanced Open Water Certification, and it wasn't offered at the resort during my time there. I hadn't been diving in too many years to admit... but instructors were awesome, made me feel completely at home and comfortable. Kind of like part of the "family". They were very good at not pushing if you weren't comfortable with a particular dive, but were very supportive and encouraging. There was one day with heavy surge that made for difficult entry/exit, but otherwise the weather was fantastic. I found Bonaire to be a great place for new/inexperienced divers. I was amazed at the reef health and diversity, even though I've heard from other sources that they are declining. The only thing I wish I had known is how much I was going to enjoy diving again so I could have booked my stay for longer! |
