Dive Conditions

No restrictions.  Almost all shore diving!  

Being shore based, facilities were usually back at our rental place for
film changes, battery changes, etc.    

Overall Rating

Currenlty, there is a lot of chatter about poor local response to
increasing crime.  Although we didn't experience any problems, we took the
usual precautions (nothing left in vehicle, windows rolled down, etc).  We
brought along a lock to lock the spare tire onto the car.  We expressed
concerns before we left to the car rental company (Budget), and their
answer was, if you are that concerned, then don't come!  Not exactly what
one wants to hear when expressing concerns.  

Once that was behind us, the diving was great! We had some minor problems
with Photo Tours (didn't want to take us to Town pier and their boat dives
left a bit to be desired), but the owner made amends to us later.  

Mel and Louise at Happy Holiday Tours were excellent, and I highly
recommend them to anyone travelling to Bonaire.  They provide on site
security at night, quality rooms, and now high speed internet access.  Use
them if you want to save lots of $$ and don't mind not being on the beach. 


If and when Bonaire starts working on solving their crime issues to make
tourists feel a bit safer, I will go back again and again!  Review up to
