Comments The Good
Beautiful resort, great rooms and restaurant. Service was good at the resort, close to 4 star. Lloyd the bellman should be teaching classes to the staff. Get the Beachfront premiere suite and ask for a lower level unit. Easier to haul your gear and much more convenient to the beach and pool areas. Food was great. Go to Guernica(good fish) and Capriccios(excellent wines). La Balandra at the resort and Vespuccis are great, Patagonia was good. Best Meal was at the Rose Inn in Rincon. Local foods, great goat stew!
Diving was very good. We dived 3X/day with the resort boat. Great and friendly Guides,Nollie, Malin, Alphonso, Sylvia and Leo. Knew where to go and picked some great sites. The diving in Bonaire is excellent. Healthy reefs and moderately clear water. Lots of life, but not much diversity from site to site. After 4-5 days we did not see much that we hadn't seen already. But, the diving was still great. Boat is large and comfortable. Rarely did we have more than 8-10 divers. (there were 5 of us).
The Bad
Nothing was bad. This resort is a 4 star and could be a 5 star resort with just a little effort. I think some minor staff training, and more personalized diving services like a valet diving system should be a given for what a vacation costs there. Also an in house UW photographer would be a big help. Flights to Bonaire from Fl stink! Long connections via American and having to leave our hotel at 5:15AM to come home bites!
I wish I knew to book the Salt Pier prior to arriving and to book Larrys for an east coast dive. Other than that all else was great.
