The hotel, Banana Beach, was great. We ejoyed being a 20 min stroll to town. They had plenty of hot water, water pressure and the ac worked great. The pools were lovely as were the staff. The dive shop, Pro Tech Belize, was wonderful. Everyone seemed to enjoy their jobs and it showed. The groups were limited to 6 per divemaster. Only on one day was the boat truly full. That day, we had a leader and sweeper dive master. The depths were enforced to a degree. They asked that we stay about 70' on the 1st dive and 60' or so on the 2nd. I would go a little deeper to look at something and nothing was said. We did not feel rushed in the water at all. The dives lasted approx 50-55 minutes. They do offer Nitrox which is what we used for our dives. They also provide Nitrox for the other shops on the island. Due to the full moon, the vis wasn't the greatest and the fish life was lacking. That being said, the diving was still very good. The divemasters give excellent briefings, count noses after the dives and are willing to go the extra mile for you. The boats are in tip-top shape. We were very happy with our choice of dive shop. |
