Comments	I visted Caye Caulker (Belize) for one week and stayed at Ignazio's beach cabins for $24 US per night. Caulker is very laid back, no cars, food is somewhat expensive, beer ( $2.50 US). The two best local dive operators are Bigfish and Frenchie's. I dove with each of them twice. The Caulker local dives are okay but nothing spectacular. The best local dive is probably the Marine park where you see some bigger fish and spotted eagle rays. The Blue Hole Lighthouse Reef trip is about a 2 1/2 hour boat ride depending on weather. March - April can be windy here (and also along Yucatan Penn in Mexico). The wall dives off lighthouse reef and Turneffe Islands are well worth the trip, spectacular coral formations. Part of the lighthouse reef area is no fishing so you see some bigger fish ( ie Grouper). Beware ! There are many vendors soliciting dive business. Most are brokers and the operators come from Belize City or Ambergis who stop at Caulker to fill dive boats. My friends had a very bad experience booking a dive this way. I would stick with Bigfish or Frenchie's.
