Comments Belize Dive Haven is a work in progress. The basic amenities are available, but a lot of features are still under construction.

You fly into Belize City International airport where you are picked up by Belize Dive Haven Staff and transported to a Marina with a restaurant and bar. Where you wait until the group for the 1 hour plus boat trip to the resort have assembled. Take your foul weather gear with you in the event the crossing is wet. Sit towards the stern. On our return trip the people in the bow bounced a lot. In our case the luggage traveled in a separate boat.

The rooms and beds were comfortable. When we were there there was only one key available per room and the safe in the room was not attached to anything. The room had some unique design features. There was a plain glass window between the shower and the bedroom that faced the sliding glass doors. If you were on the first floor you needed to keep the curtains drawn to prevent people outside looking into the bathroom. The door to our room had a large glass oval in it which let the light from the hall illuminate the room at night.

Bring plenty of insect repellent and use it liberally as the biting insects are furious despite the resort fogging morning and night.

The staff was courteous and very helpful. The dive staff were excellent and the boats were comfortable. People who went snorkeling enjoyed themselves and were able to see a lot of sea life.

The dinning room is currently under construction so we ate in a large open area adjoining the bar area. The food was adequate but the menu was much the same from day to day.

We were a group of 52 persons with forty five divers which was the largest group they have had to date so we represented a stress test for the hotel. The staff handled the situation with only minor problems.
