Halcyon Recalls Explorer-40 BCs

from the February, 2007 issue of Undercurrent   Subscribe Now

Halcyon Manufacturing is recalling Explorer-40 BCs that it sold after July 2005. Over time, the over pressure valve could delaminate and cause the BC to leak. Spokesperson Ken Petersen said it’s unlikely that most of these units will experience any problems. “We don’t have any reports of problems in the water since we caught this during one of our quality-control evaluations,” he said. The flaw was due to a lamination machine used as a heat sealer that showed slight inconsistency during production.

Halcyon has identified the 78 BCs that were affected, and Petersen said the company is still waiting for a small number of them to be returned. The serial numbers are available at www.halcyon. net/recall. You can return the unit to any Halcyon dealer for a replacement. To contact Halcyon for more information, call (800) 425-2966, ext. 307, or e-mail techservices@halcyon.net.
