Just Had Your Tank Inspected? You Sure About That?
from the January, 2005 issue of Undercurrent
If at all possible, it’s best to have your tank inspected by
someone you know and trust. That admonition is especially
timely in light of the recent indictment of a Virginia firm, Fire
Safety Products, Inc., for allegedly charging for tank inspections
that were never performed. According to the indictment,
during the period from January, 1999, through April,
2001, Fire Safety Products’ employees certified that literally
hundreds of uninspected cylinders were fit for use. The cylinders
included medical oxygen cylinders and firefighter air
packs as well as scuba tanks.
