Jane R,July 1999, David Schwab (schwabd@bunt.com), APO, AE, Germany. Vis: 5-20 Meters, Water: 8-16 Celsius. Rainy. Water: calm. Restrictions: None. Jane Ris a British live-aboard owned and operated by Gordon Wadsworth of Scarborough, England. Dived fantastic WWII wrecks. Drysuit diving. Diving limited only by the desire of the divers and the surface intervals (depths about 30 meters). Not a luxury boat. Spartan accommodations, but plenty of room. Sleeps 14 divers plus crew; we were 7, plus 3 crew. Sufficient hot water for showers, head never crowded. Sleeping bag required. Divers bring all their own equipment except weights, but arrangements for equipment can be made. No drying room. If you dive in a wetsuit, bring two semi-dries. Otherwise dive in a drysuit. Divers are welcome on the bridge and can take the helm. Captain is open to questions about the boat and navigation equipment. Put us on top of the wrecks every time. Food typically British may not be to American tastes, plenty of it. Divers usually meet the boat in Bergen. Typical British diving for serious divers. Excellent wrecks. Lousy weather, bookended by beautiful weekends. (Contact: Gordon Wadsworth (country code 0044) 777-585-1150)
