Scuba Iguana/Hotel Galapagos, November 1998, Robert "Doc" Adelman, Gurnee, IL. Water: 74-78 degrees, Vis: 60-90 ft. Land-based Galapagos experience. Boat rides up to I.5 hr depending on waves (2x2OOhp) Fast! "Scuba Iguana" owner Mathias Espinosa very good at this! Hotel was fabulous. Right next to Darwin Station, 5 min fast walk to town. Great location on secluded, iguana-infested point. Nice alternative to live-aboard. No way to get to Darwin. Saw many hammerheads in our range that included: North Seymour, Pinzon (Duncan), Santa Cruz, Gardner, Cristobal, Santa Fe, Espanola. Lava tubes tour. Captivated by starfish! Hotel food was first rate. Service superb! Packed wonderful lunches for day dive trips. Dove with Pierre Constant, French underwater photographer, there on a shoot.
