Comments Building a 1,000 bed COVID field hospital in 3 weeks was stressful/tiring and I decided upon an "escape COVID" dive trip as a cure. I correctly guessed that the US Virgin Islands would open early and scheduled an Independence Day dive vacation. To insure no social distancing issues, I rented the entire dive boat for my sole use for a couple of days. The team @ Cane Bay Dive Center were outstanding and a delight to dive & deal with! The boat even had fresh-baked cookies and banana bread daily along with cold beverages, bars and fruit. The Frederiksted Pier night shore dive was spectacular and convenient to their well stocked shop. The post dive dinner upstairs from the shop at the Tap Deck was wonderful with many excellent beers on tap. Diving with Cane Bay is highly recommended! Our stay at The Buccaneer was, unfortunately, at the negative end of the experience spectrum. It seemed they used the pandemic as an excuse for poor service. The waitstaff attitudes ranged from nasty to stupid. Every breakfast order was incorrect, slow and served with bad attitude. It amazed me how they got our order of 4 coffees and 4 waters wrong EVERY day. Dinner the first night was grossly overpriced and of poor quality and resulted in a vow to not eat at the hotel again beyond the included breakfast. Securing poolside adult beverages was a Herculean task. The property is beautiful with two lovely beaches and a great pool, tennis courts and golf course but poorly maintained. I quickly tired of reinstalling window louver handles and left them where they fell. The plumbing fixtures were terribly installed/maintained. Room cleaning was only every 3 days and requests for additional coffee pods were ignored. Weeds choked our waterfront terrace paving and "weed" smoke was omnipresent while I refrained from enjoying a vacation cigar after the front desk warning that the property was non-smoking. Dive with Cane Bay. Do not stay at the Buccaneer! Over $400 per night for crap!

UW Photo Comments Camera rinse tank was aboard but was tight for 4 camera rigs. Adjacent camera table was adequate and doubled as the surface-interval snack table. I have seen much worse camera accommodations.
