Comments Captain Mike Miglini continues to run a highly professional Spearfishing operation. This time, we went out 26 miles to the oil rigs, and filled our locker with Snapper and Amberjack. The "Orion" is a state of the art 38' charter boat, with AC, shower, and plenty of berth spaces. The focus is always on safety, and as usual we had a great trip. Last trip, in Oct.2006, we swam with a whale shark at 100' for a whole tank.
This trip is great if you are not a spearfisher, as the amount of fish around the Texas rigs is truly incredible. In the past we've seen Goliath Grouper,Tarpon,Turles,Ling, Reef sharks, and a bull shark. We always see Dolphins.
I highly recommend this trip to anyone who wants a safe, exhilirating trip into the Gulf Stream. Pt. Aransas is just outside Corpus Christi.
