Comments This is a top notch 6-pack operation run by owners Brian and Janine
Chouiniere. The boat is a well appointed 27' Sport Craft named Surfacetime. It is equipped with a head, warm shower, dedicated camera tank, coolers for snacks and sodas. As we pulled up, we were greeted by Capt. Brian. We filled our our release, and our gear was loaded on the boat. Brian had 63 nitrox tanks for me and for the wife of our friend. There were comfortable cushions to sit on as we headed out- the seas were calm and flat. Janine gave a thorough boat orientation and safety briefing. Our first dive was on Flower Garden and a max depth in the 50s. There was little current, and as usual, an abundance of fish-many varieties of angels, margate, spotted and goldentail eels, school of reef butterfly fishes, parrots, file fishes, numerous rock beauties, puffers, etc. Janine was our guide- and a great guide she was- spotting 5 sea turtle (loggerheads & hawksbills)- many of them sleeping. She patiently waited as we took photos. After an hour dive and safety stop, there was an easy entrance onto the boat: it was calm enough that I could take my bc off in the water; and Brian hauled it up. There is never any swimmimg against current to the boat, as the boat comes right up to you. A roll call was taken, and lively conversation ensued as we enjoyed water, sodas and fruit. Our second dive was on Bath & Tennis- more current here- and we saw a large green moray, spotted morays, trumpets, graysbys, high hats, scrawled cows, etc. Back on the boat, after roll call, we reluctantly headed back to the marina, our gear was off loaded as we headed to the marina showers and dressing rooms. It was a great day of diving, there is so much life here, and we will all definitely be back!
We stayed at the Marriott Singer Is Resort & Spa- which is a beautiful property with full kitchen, living room, flat screen tvs in all rooms. The balconies are great for drying out gear. A less expensive alternative in the Courtyard by Marriott which also has balconies for equipment- one thing we look for where we stay.
