Comments I had never been in the FL panhandle and wanted to get an idea of what I would see if I did the wreck trail. I wasn't expecting too much but the reef was barren and the fish were skittish due to hunting pressure. If you are a spear fisherman, you would like it. If you enjoy clear water and abundant life, skip it unless you are dying to blow bubbles. The operation was good enough. You sign in at the shop and then drive your tanks to the marina across the street. You load your own gear and set up. If you pay for a DM, you get your own briefing. I didn't pay for one and was fine without one. They try to upsell you into one when you reserve. There is weight on the boat and the operation reminds me a little of Olympus in NC. You get a ride to the dive site, a briefing, and then you do your own thing in the water. I liked being able to dive my own profile, just wish the bottom conditions were as good as topside. I would only do a one trip two tank dive here to check it off of your location list.
