Comments This was a unique dive trip for us. Years ago we decided to spend eternity at the underwater cemetery off Miami, called NEPTUNE SOCIETY MEMORIAL ( www.nmreef.com/dive-partners ). We finally went to see the facility. We checked with local dive shops and they told us we could 'possibly' dive the memorial, but if the other divers (we're talking cattle-car ops here) didn't want to go, then that was it...

One dive shop offered to take just the 2 of us out for just under $1,000 for a couple of dives. Another dive shop suggested we call Miami Bay Tours. Bingo--we had a winner!

Miami Bay Tours is owned/operated by a fantastic man, who is a full time Miami Police Officer who makes sure the cruise ships and cargo ships in Miami are safe (underwater). Highly experience and highly knowledgeable about the area.

He took us out in his beautiful twin-250hp, 28' (I think) covered boat that was immaculate. Rinse bucket, tanks, weights, plenty of legal liquid refreshments. The man could not have been nicer and more informative. Indeed, my wife and I left feeling like we were saying goodbye to a longtime friend!

Now, I admit this is not a trip for a lot of diving, but the memorial was crawling with marine critters. Lobster, green moray, all sorts of reef fishes and critters, plus the memorial cemetery itself is well worth the trip.

There is also a small reef nearby...saw a nurse shark and several large schools of reef fish.

Definitely worth adding to your bucket list!

Oh, Mike charged us $110.00 each for the 2 dives. And refused to accept a large tip (he cut it in half!)
