Comments [None]Outstanding owners and crew. Captain Jim was very flexible on changing dive dates following several attempts to drive from Jacksonville, Fl area not wanting to encouter high seas and low visibility. We finally made it following two hurricanes this summer and it was two terrific dives. Captain Alex and divemaster Josh did a very profesional job. As a REEF "citizen scientist" the opportunity to do fish IDs is always top notch with 40 plus species identified on both dives along the reef running South to North with a very slight current. Water temp at 85 so a nice half mill wetsuit and gloves was fine but eh visibility was only 50 feet which is a bit below normal for that area.No turtles this trip but a couple of sharks and eels plus nice size grouper, and a bonus of a couple of lobster for dinner made it a great trip. Drop the gear off 15 feet from the nice 30 ft dive boat dock and park in the covered parking garage for free with a short walk back to the boat. The crew will help with the gear both on the dock and on the boat. Both my wife and I have some handicap so we require assistance with our gear and they were right there for us. Snacks, drinks, hot water shower, head, rinse buckets are on the boat. My wife and I prefer our own dive flag which is the standard method used not having to rely on keepig up with a dive guide and then using a safety sausage. Nice aluminum handles with reef hooks on them. On weekends there is a lot of boat traffic in that area and the captain will keep other traffic away. Want to stop and take a photo or catch a bug you still have your dive flag and the captain knows where you are. p.s. please pay attention to the safety briefing prior to leasving the dock by stopping rigging gear and chatting. As an instructor and boat captain I had to remind a nice young couple of this which they coomplied with. It's for everyones benefit of course. Our next dive with Loggerhead Dive Charters is already planned. Please be sure and tip the crew. They earn it.
