I can not say enough about Dive Provo. I have been to other destinations
that have good dive operators, but I think that Dive Provo is by far the
best that I have ever had.
When I first arrived on Turks and Caicos I really wasn't feeling good so
I decided to take a day off from diving. They crew got me oriented to the
boat and up to speed with the others quickly. The dive shop provided you
with a rental mesh bag that your equipment would be kept in all week. Once
I got my gear on the boat I never had to worry about taking it off or
rinsing it, because it was done for me. That was a first.
If it wasn't bad enough that I had felt bad my first day there my BC
developed a problem while I was there. My power inflator hose had came
"unglued" from the bladder. I was told that if I could not fix
my BC there were rentals in the dive shop. After trying to fix it and
having no luck I thought I would have to rent equipment that I had never
used and might not be real comfortable with. The captain of the boat that
day said that he might have a glue that might work. He said if that didn't
work there was not a lot that could be done since there are evidently not a
lot of repair facilities on the island. He asked me if he could give it a
try and I said that he could. Well the next day my BC was back on the boat
and it worked prefectly. We had decided to do a deep dive that day and
needless to say I felt a lot better doing it in my own equipment. To my
kowledge they never charged me for fixing it. I know I missed a day of
diving and I never recovered that money getting my BC fixed made up for
it.
Thanks to Dive Provo and their staff my dive vacation was a lot more
enjoyable than it could have been.
