This is a fantastic place for new Divers and a relaxing enjoyable
place for more expierienced Divers. The resort(and I use this word
liberally) is located on a beautiful Bay outside of the main Tourist hub
but close enough to allow easy access. The Bungalows are bare bones,
shower, bed and fan like most Bungalows on Koh Tao. The cost is $7.50 to
$15.00 p/n and the dives are $20.00 each. You can't beat it. If you don't
need to live in luxury, Taa Toh is as good as it gets. The food at the
resort is fair but there are several good Restaurants near by.
The Dive operation is top nonch. The Divemasters are friendly,
knowledgable and careful. The boat is comfortable and roomy and the dive
sites are nearby. The diving here is not as good as in the Andaman Sea but
does not require a live-aboard to reach the best dive sites(Similan
Islands). Top side, Thailand can't be beat. The people are friendly, exotic
and they like Americans. You can find everything from peace and quiet to
rah-rah night life to cheap shopping, and the food is unbeatable.
This is not a place for people who need to be pampered but if you can
rough it, this is the spot. |
