I did not do any UWP -- but those who did the conditions were excellent.
The Dive Master, P J Widestrand, was an excellent video photog, and made
DVDs after the trip -- for sale. No real need to take photos! I just
enjoyed the marine life. No film processing lab on boat(s)

The Live-aboard's boat was the Scuba Adventure. The site is world class. I
plan to go back in 2005. I made a 10-day trip from two 4 dayers -- with a
transferto their Scuba Cat which operates mainly for shorter trips, in the
Similin Island Group. Then back to the Scuba Adventure for another 4 days.
This way I went to Richeleau Rock twice. Seven sightings of Giant Mantas
- up close and personal!. Leopard Sharks. Currents were strong on some
dives. Begineers migh have problems. P J (Widestrand) the Dive Master
watched out for everybody in this situation. On one dive he told several to
just hang out on the bow line: they saw 3 Giant Mantas -- the rest of us
-- saw 2!
Overall a great trip. Most divers used 3mm suits. I used a tee shirt.
water temp at 130 ft. was 81 F!!! Nitrox available on Scuba Adv.
Point of Live-aboards: I was on for two trips. First 4 days, very
congenial group from all over. 2nd 4-dayer - a very quiet group almost no
friendly conversations.
Note: My experiences was very similar to one you published recently on
another live-aboard out of Phuket.
The outfit I went with has a web site: www.Scubacat.com
