Multiple rinse tanks. Crew took great care with cameras. Lots of electrical points. Computer for use of photographers (with Photoshop and CD-Rom burn facility. E6 available, but 25 roll minimum. Boat clearly designed for photographers. |

Exceptionally well-run operation with outstanding crew. We were there when the Tsunami hit. Fortunately, we did not experience any direct effects of the Tsunami. Throughout, safety precautions were sensibly balanced with the desire to accomodate our diving. We were able to visit some sites before and after the Tsunami hit them. It is true that SOME sites we visited, inshore Surin and Similans, showed extensive damage to hard coral. Fortunately, many other sites, particularly sea mounts (such as Richelieu Rock) and those in Burma experienced little or no visible damage. I am confident that the Ocean Rover crew will be able to continue to provide quality diving at very good sites, both in Thailand and Burma. I experienced the Sea Rover's excellence before I even got on the boat. A missed connection in Frankfurt meant I would arrive in Phuket the day after the boat's departure. Greg at the office was able to mount a military style operation to get me to the boat (using cars and a water taxi) comfortably and quickly, with the minimal loss of diving. I do not think I have enjoyed a better service (including 'wetsuit valet') from any other liveaboard I have been on. Highly recommended. |
