Comments the bad: most of the dives were not exciting but a lot better than Boracay (Ph.) which had lots of sand and rocks; the hotel was cheap so fan (but you could get A/C); still bucket flush toilet; food on the pier at Bang Bao was only average but less than average for American eggs, meat, etc., they start re-doing same dive sites at less than 1 week; the equipment was well used some of the cafes are shabby; DMs want to serve you unlike mexico; some of many stuff to see were: banner fishes, nudibranch, cowry, xmas tree, cane and whip sponges, butterfly and globes,
barracuda, 1 turtle, angel fishes, titan trigger fishes, lots of sea urchins, more than a few blue-spotted sting rays, sweet lip fishes; no ghost pipe fish seen nor sharks
I did get food poisoning from either Bangkok airport or BB Delight food; but, pepto bismol really ties up the toxins-- so that I was only sick 2 days.
The other divers were mostly Europeans and beginners and nice people.
Kostas + Wi Delight Cafe (they haves rooms too) was the best cafe for price and tasty food; the Japanese cafe was expensive and modern and clean.
Another week was spent at White Sands ( tourist town) but only diving was done at Bang Bao.
