Comments Bill Tewes is an aquired taste, as previously mentioned in your review, but definitely worth any supposed aggravation. His Divemasters DJ and Callie have the eyes of birds of prey. Brotula to pipehorse--nothing escapes their gaze. Frogfish on every dive--even dwarfs, seahorses [new purple] [not yet in book]abound. Fingerprint cyphoma, apricot sidegill slugs, gold-lined sea goddesses, porcelain crabs, tritonia H, decorator crabs, flame box crabs, snake eels, lesser electric rays, blennys and gobies of every description. For me even the first digital photo of a Dawson pipefish.Dives average 70 to 80 minutes -- there is never pressure to leave the water. Solo or with six clients Tewes' operation goes. Actually you never need to leave "critter corner" just across from the dive shop off Young Island. If you have the financial resources--a great place to stay. The food is exceptional. Equipment is stored and washed by Dive St Vincent staff. Now the one major negative--it has nothing to do with diving--LIAT airlines is your only means of entry into St Vincent if you are not able to fly private/specialty carrier. LIAT carry-on requirements suck, the service sucks and it stands for Lost in Another Time-Warp. Best option is to fly to St Lucia then take the short 20 minute hop--less likely that LIAT will lose you. But the critters make all the flying hardships disappear.
