PLEASE NOTE: In order to stay at what appeared to be, and was in fact, a pretty nice property, we had decided to book the Copamarina in spite of prior Chapbook reviews that the dive operation repeatedly was problematic. For us too, the dive operation at the Copamarina was a disappointment. Just days before, they said everything was fine. Once we arrived the story was, "The Coast Guard lost our license application so we can't go out." The much better dive operation according to the reviews in the Chapbook servicing the very nice reef off the Southwest coast of Puerto Rico was Paguera Divers. The Copa dive shop offered to book us with them which we did; so we drove about 25 minutes west each morning in order to dive with Paguera Divers. Like others, we were extremely pleased with the entire experience with Angel and his crew. The Copamarina was nicely landscaped with very nice pools, nice rooms, pretty good patio bar/restaurant. But the unreliable dive shop, plus the fact they overbooked badly which bumped our friends and many others we heard about to the Ponce Hilton for a few days will keep us from repeating there. |
