Comments [My daughter and I cruised the 10 day "Komodo and Sumbawa Whalesharks" itinerary. I have been twice before on the Seven Seas and, as before, the service was excellent. The front desk helped us with arrangements including flights from Bali to Labuan Bajo, extra luggage, and a drone permit for Komodo National Park. We were met at Komodo Airport and greeted on the ship. The cabins are nice but small. Since the cruise was underbooked (6 guests with capacity for 16), cruise director Angel kindly let my daughter use an empty cabin. The crew helped set up my dive gear, assigned a locker, and gave an excellent orientation with emphasis on fire safety. Dives were made from an 8 passenger runabout and all equipment except mask was already onboard for each dive. The camera table is nice but a bit small if there are more than two or three photographers. The underwater fauna and flora was stunning as always. We were blessed to dive with seven whalesharks and many (I lost count) reef and oceanic mantas with close encounters. All dives were highly productive for video. We had several land excursions including a hike on Komodo Island complete with dragons and vipers. The food, as always, was well-prepared, tasty, and filling.
Unfortunately, the trip was marred on the day before departure when we were unexpectedly charged for Komodo Park Fees. This was unexpected because the website verbiage specifically states that the park fees are included in the package. It even states: "What's Not Included: None". This verbiage is still present on their website "[thesevenseas.net link];
The company's rationale for this charge was that the rates we paid were discounted. This discount was clearly stated on the website where it also said that park fees were included in the package. Again, see the website for discounted trips with no-extra-fee assurance. My protests were ignored.
Another guest on the boat had a written document from the Seven Seas management specifically stating that the park fees were included in her package. Nevertheless, she also was charged.
I don't mind paying park fees, but I do mind being swindled. Despite the excellent trip and service, I recommend against booking with this company. ]

UW Photo Comments There is lots to photograph. The crew was careful with cameras. There is no water tank on the runabouts but the cameras were dunked once on the main ship. The camera table is really too small for more than two serious photo/ videographers.
