Comments We received the following message from Peter Hughes on March 19 regarding our anticipated trip on Paradise Dancer on April 6th:

"I am writing to you today to inform you that there is the possibility that our new vessel the M/V Paradise Dancer may not be fully completed by the time your scheduled voyage departs.
Just as we have been experiencing unprecedented weather patterns here in the USA, (ie: the tornadoes in downtown Atlanta this past weekend) the weather Gods in Indonesia have apparently decided not to favor us as well. The weather in Kalimantan (Borneo) where the keel was laid and the hull built was flooded so severely that the vessel was 2 months late in its launch date and subsequent scheduled arrival in Bali for completion. (You saw the pictures in a recent DivEmail newsletter.)
Since arriving in Bali on Christmas Eve, we have been working around the clock to prepare her. Had the weather cooperated, we could have made up this lost time. Unfortunately, Peter and Guido (our local partner) must not have made the proper offering to the weather Gods, since Bali too has had extremely unusual weather which has hampered the catch-up efforts.
As you all know, safety is our #1 priority. We also want to be sure you travel on a tested and comfortable vessel. During sea trials we test, retest, and test one more time – all systems on board. Only then are passengers invited on board. At this point in time we are not 100% sure if Paradise Dancer will have completed all of her required sea trials by the time our first two charters occur. The timing is simply that tight.
We know that this is a significant trip for all of you, and we do not want to disappoint you. As such, our local partners have taken out an “insurance policy”. The vessel Sea Safaris 9 has been chartered for the duration of these first two voyages. If for any reason, the Paradise Dancer can not be utilized, your cruise will still occur as scheduled on this alternate vessel."

As of March 26th it still appears the boat won't be ready. Since we learned of the boat through Undercurrents we thought you might be interested.
