Overall Rating

Paya Bay Resort offers diving without the crowds. We didn't see another
dive boat during the week we were there. Hurricane damage was minimal to
the reef. Mooring replacement is planned for summer, 2006. The boat time to
dive sites was short. Surface intervals were on local docks. The dive sites
were between Pollytilly and Camp Bay along a fringe reef just offshore on
the north side of the island. We did scrap one day's diving when a storm
passed over, but otherwise did two morning dives beginning at 9 with the
option of a third in the afternoon. The Resort has 8 rooms, a large dining
room with deck, and two beaches. Food was plentiful and good. The staff on
duty the week we were there was wonderful. Overall, it was a good
experience. Visitors will want to take a book or two to read in the
evening, or be ready to kick back and relax.
