Comments This was our check-out dive trip to see if we still could perform after laying around during Covid. Consequently, we took our leisure and dove only once or twice a day. We started by shore diving in the iconic "channel" that lies a mere step down from the walkway. This is a favorite for us, where we took our time, adjusted gear, and re-acquainted ourselves with finding the sweet spot in buoyancy. We like the fact that we can dive in the channel anytime, go as slow or fast as we want, and examine all the "locals" at leisure. We also did some boat dives and enjoy the extra kick of being dropped outside the channel to wander our way home depending on our remaining air.

The food was hearty and fresh. The dining staff very helpful.

Due to the regular accommodations being sold-out, CocoView booked us at one of the nearby cottages that came with a golf cart to get us back and forth. Very nice, indeed! Dining and diving were all handled by CocoView. Boat was spacious, easy on and off, with an excellent Captain and Divemaster.

Since we did a limited amount of diving, I can't comment too much on the fish count other than to say we saw the usual suspects - beautiful squid, enormous morays, octos, a mobula that followed us around. Visibility was always 60 to 100 feet. The reef had lots of structure, so good hidey-holes for fish and animals, but like many reefs these days, not the colorful corals we used to expect.

This was a relaxing trip (from San Diego to Houston to Roatan) and we are ready to repeat. Only this time, we'll be diving a lot, lot more!
