Comments This was my first experience diving on the more northwestern coast of the Big Island. Kohala Divers is a first class operation. Nice boat with a working "head," good rental equipment, pleasant, knowledgeable, enviornmentally and safety conscientious staff. They even provided individually packaged snacks and beverages.

Although Hawaii has a real problem with over-fishing and fish-collectors, that it needs to address legislatively, it was in better condition at Paniau and Puako than in Kona. If staying in Kona again, as I usually do, I would make the 35 miles drive to dive with Kohala Divers again.
