Shore diving the Big Island on your own is the best. Rent tanks for the
week from Jack's, get a dive site map and go. The tough part is the entry
and exit over the lava rocks, but the diving is great. Swim-throughs,
turtles, fish - all easy and doable. There are so many sites you can spend
a week (which we do every year) and only do the best twice! Tank rental
includes unlimited fills, so you can live like a beach bum, in your
wetsuit, and dive up and down the coast all day.
