During a weeklong dive vacation to Maui, we arranged a day trip to Lanai
with Extended Horizons. They were recommended by our Maui dive operator,Mike
Severns Diving,an excellent operation that is always highly rated in the
Chapbook. We wanted to check out the Cathedrals dive sites, listed as
"must dives" when in the area.

We were not disappointed.Maren, our divemaster exuded enthusiam and
confidence. After a first dive at Knob Hill where we viewed peacock flounder
and bandit angelfish it was off to Cathedrals II.This cavern dive lived up
to its name as an ethereal feeling permeated the cavern when the sunlight
streamed in.Site featured many pyramid butterflyish, achilles
tang, orangespine surgeonfish, brown and yellow phase trumpetfish amd a male
bird wrasse.Several white frogfish were there for the viewing.

Extended Horizons offers photograpy services for those who don't take their
own shots and want a souvenir to bring home.We normally don't buy a photo
package but did so this time since we wanted some pictues of endemic
Hawaiian fish.Picture quality was good and CD was reasonably priced.

The boat trip back to Maui featured a pod of spinner dolphins to entertain
us.A truly great day of diving.
