Comments There's lots to see in Grenada, both above and under the water. My wife and I stayed at the new Sandals property, Sandals LaSource Grenada, and received all luxury one would expect from an all inclusive resort. There was always a beach chair or restaurant seat available and it never felt overcrowded. Sandals advertises "unlimited scuba diving" at their resorts, but this actually means 2 per day. Anything beyond 2 per day costs an extra fee. We had experienced this before at other Sandals property, but managed to squeeze 3 dives for free on some days at Sandals LaSource Grenada. We had picked our room to be close to the Sandals dive shop, Aqua Center. Since most people use the provided rental gear, the Aqua Center does not have adequate storage or drying facilities for people that bring their own gear, so be prepared to carry it back and forth from your room. Dive sites are picked, based on condition, by the dive crew. Customer input was sought to make sure the avid divers weren't going repeatedly to the same sites. Sandals LaSource has 2 dive boats and all of our diving was done off a 42' Newton dive boat with dual ladders. All of the dive crew were outstanding and took really good care of all of the divers. The diving is some of the best we've experienced in the Caribbean. There was abundant fish life on every dive, but not too many big fish. It was the largest abundance and variation of the different types of Caribbean reef fish we've seen in all of our diving in the Caribbean. The must do dive in Grenada is the Bianca C, the so called Titanic of the the Caribbean. [en.wikipedia.org link] It is an awesome dive! To get to see bigger fish and sharks, we had to pay extra to go around the southern tip of the island to the Atlantic side of the island and dive the Hema 1 site. That's were all of the big stuff is: Atlantic Giant Mantas, Nurse Sharks, Black Tip Reef Sharks, Barracudas, Jacks, and more. For something different, also try to do the Moliniere Underwater Sculpture Park dive. If you have the chance to go to Grenada, and can afford to stay at the Sandals La Source, you'll have a great stay and get to do some excellent diving.
