Dressel Divers: this was my second time diving with them and I was happy with them, I visited during the Thanksgiving Holiday and they wer pretty buisy, but the staff gave me all the attention I needed. The guides and other staff wre friendly and made an extra effort to be sure everyone had a good experience. I was impressed by their ability to meet the needs of divers of various ability levels by grouping people with different guides. Sites were well chosen and well led, and when one night dive ended up being mostly sand they added an extra free night dive to make up for it. I did my advianced open water certification course with them while I was there and feel that I did get something out of that. Dressel divers is located on site at the Iberostar resort so it couldn't have been more convenient. Iberostar Hotel: also my second time, I didn't enjoy it as much as before, it's a nice property and I chose to return as it offered amenities for my non diving partner. I think my dissapointment was that the food was too americanised. We had stayed the previous 5 days in a small hotel in Tulum on the Mayan Riviera and had fantastic food there. Tulum: I didn't do any diving there but there are multiple dive shops in town offering both Cenote diving as well as diving on the offshore coral reef. In Tulum we stated at a small hotel the Posada Luna del Sur which was very inexpensive, well located, clean, and comfortable. I wanted to mention it as there is a lot of diving in Tulum and this hotel would be a good place to stay for anyone visiting Tulum to dive. |
