Comments Cocos Island diving is all that it is cracked up to be - and much more! Incredible hammerhead shark diving, white tips on every dive, a few silver tips, a few Galapagos sharks, and a small whale shark. Lots of rays and excitement on every single dive. Even when it was relatively "quiet" underwater, you just knew that something exciting was waiting around the corner, and seldom were you disappointed. Bait balls, dolphins, and a huge variety of tropicals completed the cast of underwater characters. Strong currents, surge, and rough surface water make this trip one that only advanced and worldly divers should make. I travelled with 2 terrific dive buddies and met an international group (Germany, Italy, Russia, France, Costa Rica, Americans) onboard the boat. The crew of the Okeanos was excellent, from the Captain to the stewards. Food was good and plentiful. The boat is showing signs of age, and our charter was full (22) plus a couple of rangers to be shuttled to the island. So, it was a little crowded at times, but the staterooms are comfortable, with ample room. In room shower and toilet was more than adequate. We had a rough ride both coming and going, so the 32 hours at sea was not as pleasant as one would have wished, but the diving more than made up for the trip. If you have ever thought about going to Cocos - go!
