Comments Searching the internet I found "fantasea special" offered by Sunset House,Grand Cayman, 7 days, 6 days 2 tank diving, free full breakfast, courtyard view room $1253.00 diver $758.00 n/diver.we arrived Sept 4 07 thru 12 ,my heart sank a little as the taxi pulled into the driveway, the reception area was small, but the gal on duty was nice and helpful, she signed us up and gave us the key to room #203, #203 was directly behind the recep area,200 block was a 6 unit building 3 units down 3 up.203 was down with a small shared patio that fronted the parking lot,(far from a courtyard)there were two pick up trucks backed upto the patio area blocking access to the 3 steps leading to the room, after navigating around and over the trucks (no easy task when hauling dive gear and luggage)we reached the room,it was very small, musty smelling, and dark,no rear exit, I have had better rooms and views in "no tell motels" than this courtyard view!!..I returned to reception, voiced my dissatisfaction to the manager on duty, after some "gee we realy don't have anything"and my then we will find accomadation elswhere she found room 412 was availible,(although I only counted 7 rooms is use the whole week)412 was upper leval with a slight ocean view but was larg enough for two people to move around in comfort, and 100% improvment over #203 there was a small refrig. that later became a god send. Sunset House is a much older hotel, kinda hog-pog in its lay out and in need of some major renovation, and untill this is done the price should be greatly reduced...Sunset dive shop to the rescue, Robb,Mike,(two brits) and Jaxx a(Canadian gal)were terrific, They were fun, helpful, gave great and informative briefings, even drew little maps of the reef, allowed you to dive your own profile of tag along on a guided tour, the boat was equiped to carry about 20 divers but the max on one day was 11...The hotel has its own restaurant with marginal food and menu selection,Sunset House is just enough off the beaten trak to require a taxi to town $25.00 round trip) Its own bar with happy hour from 5 to 7 and draws a lot of locals for a couple of hours and got quite rowdy on a couple of nights,(but fun rowdy)..Sunset House I would not return nor recommend....Sunset Divers definitely....Thanks Rob,Mike,Jaxx
