Comments We spent a week at the Cayman Brac Beach Resort with another couple in February 2019. As other reviewers have mentioned, the rooms are clean, the food is excellent, the staff is great, and the valet diving is efficient and easy.

Now on to the diving. Unfortunately, the seas were 4-8 feet for the entire week we were there, and we were only able to dive the south side of the island on our first day. The rest of our dives were on the north side of the island where the seas were calm. On the south side reefs, the corals were reasonably healthy, and we saw a nice variety of typical Caribbean marine life including a large school of tarpon and a spectacular mound of pillar collar.

Although most of the dives on the north side of the island were very good, there were a couple of sites where the reefs were covered in a fuzzy growth with few fish. Based on a quick internet search, it appears that the growth is actually macro algae. Note that this is only a guess; I am not a marine biologist! Since most Caribbean reefs have problems of one type or another, I don't consider the macro algae a significant negative. However, my wife was somewhat concerned about it. We really enjoyed the Tibbetts wreck; the resident yellow frogfish was particularly impressive. We also saw less common Caribbean marine life including flying gurnard, black jack, octopus, and seahorses. Prior to departure, we went on an island tour with Mr. Mossy: highly recommended!
