Sunn Odyssey Divers is best DO in Bahamas. Very personal service,
excellent equipment, no more than 10 divers on boat that is rated for 20,
PADI/IDC operator with excellent staff and personality.

The Bahamas and Sharks go hand in hand. Sunn Odyssey, unlike Xanadu and
UNESCO, does not do shark feeding dives - Nick drops you into Shark
Junction where the reef sharks hang out between feedings. This is pure
excitment, unbridled and uncontrolled. Usually 12 to 15 sharks in the area
and very curious about divers - this is truly a "Close Encounter"
dive. Photo ops are very up close and personal.

Theo's Wreck is well known and always exciting at 110 feet at rudder and 10
meters from edge of the abyss. Large sandy bottom with hundreds of yellow
headed jaw fish to photo. Could do entire dive on jaw fish antics. Wrecks
and coral dives are unlimited with over 40 bouy-marked dive sites off the
south side of Grand Bahama Island.

Flamingo Bay Resort and Marina rebuilt after 2004 hurricanes and all is
well at the resort. Nice accomodations and staff is very friendly. Need
rental car ($125/wk) to get around island (drive on left), but there are
all the amenities.

GBI has the "Welcome" sign out with many air/hotel/dive packages.
You won't do much better for the buck. Sunn Odyssey Divers is the best
operation in the Bahamas for personal service, equipment, small number of
divers, PADI instruction and excellent dive sites.
