Comments The weather started out rough due to hurricane Tomas passing through the general area. The ship is somewhat top heavy which doesn't help in rough water. However, by the second day, the weather cleared and the sun came out. There were 22 guests on board. Anymore and it would have been way too crowded. With 22 it worked out fine. You set your gear up when you first board and the crew takes it from there. Nitrox was available at 31%. Tanks consistantly filled to 3,000 psi. The rooms were not too bad for a live aboard. We had cabin 9 which had a queen and twin beds. The diving was so so. The lion fish have taken over and the fish population was way down. The crew was the most accomodating bunch I have experienced. Ian the head dive guide summed it up by saying "we are divers and we know how we would want to be treated". The food was excellent with multiple choices each meal. If you wanted something, you just had to ask and they would do their best to make it happen. The water was cool at 78 F, but a 5 or 6 mil kept you warm for multiple dives. There are activities available other than diving if you wanted some diversity. They would take you to shore, take you fishing, free dive for lobster and the ever present kayak. No pressure on tipping, just a subtle suggested guide of 15% if one was happy and wanted to leave a gratuity.
