A Website Change for Undercurrent Members: If You Have Bookmarked us, You Might be Affected

While our Undercurrent website has always had a high level of security for members, we have just added another level and created a fully secure website. So now all pages and your input to them is securely encrypted. To do so required us to change our URL to https://www.undercurrent.org (the old website began with http:).

A problem exists that only affects you if you use older, bookmarked pages in the Member’s Area of our website, or use any such links from elsewhere (e.g. old emails) that begin with http://www.undercurrent.org/members/... . When you try to access these pages, you may get an error message about not being able to login.  Though we redirect all requests from http to https, our login system has a (so far) unresolved problem with the http: request and gives you an "unauthorized access" message.

It’s easy to resolve the problem.  Simply change all your Members' Area bookmarks/favorites to begin with https: instead of http:, and similarly always use https with any other links to those pages.

Or you may also

  • go directly to the website login page and navigate to the page you want via links on our site, or
  • copy the URL of the desired page, and change the http: to https: before hitting Enter/Return on your keyboard

We strongly suggest you change any existing favorites/bookmarks referencing a members area page to begin with https instead of http.

Any of these methods should ensure you have smooth access to our website (if you still have problems, see note below*).   If you have any problems or questions, contact me, Dave Eagleray, and explain the details.

Thanks for your patience, loyalty, and support.

*Still have problems logging in? Sometimes browsers (Safari, Chrome, Firefox, ...) will get "confused" with a login failure, especially if there's more than one, and refuse to give you a prompt for your login info.. If that happens, you should try clearing the internet cache and active logins and restart the browser. If that doesn't work, using a different browser or, at worst, rebooting your computer should fix the issue.

If you are missing any recent issues, just go to our website to download them directly.
