Texas Aqua Ventures, September 1997, Warren & Gilda Sprung, Houston, TX. "Never heard positive things about large boats that go to the Flower Gardens, so we chartered a boat to visit Stetson Bank about 70 miles offshore. After a 5 hour ride (my wife was sick the entire time) we tied off and the rocking and rolling got worse (28' boat). We four divers got into the water to find 70' vis and fair marine life. After two hour interval (96' on the dive) and my wife had no more color than a new bed sheet. Did an early night dive. I (for the first time in my life) got seasick! As dinner was served (10pm) the other couple (experienced sailors) were ill so we voted to go home, another five hours, arriving at Freeport TX, at 4:30am. . . . Owner/operator Bud Shurtleff a professional dive operator, the quality of a Peter Hughes Operation (with the wrong boat for the situation). Food first class as was condition of boat and equipment. His assistant Dennis was his equal. (However, we experienced divers were treated like first graders in the water). Bud insisted on reducing his fee, even though we cut short our trip."
