1998 Chapbook
  Tonga

An island grouping 600 miles to the southeast of Fiji, it has all the beauty of the classic south Pacific, reached via Hawaii, Fiji or New Zealand. Few operations, but reports suggest that the diving is good and with Tonga now seeking more tourism expect it to develop. . . .

Tongan Beach Resort/Dolphin Pacific Dives, July 1996, Dee Scarr, Philadelphia, PA. "Water: 75 to 77 degrees, Vis: 30 to 150 feet. Good! In addition to coral reefs, huge caves extend both above the surface of the sea and below it. They provide sort of daytime/night dives. . . . Air 80 degrees in the day, 70 at night. . . . Wish I'd known I'd enjoy the shore dive so much. I'd have brought more batteries for my night lights. . . . Highest accolades to Patty and grant of Dolphin Pacific Divers and Sam and Murray of Tonga Beach and all their staffs."
