St. Kitts Scuba/Bird Rock Beach Hotel, November 1996, James Kravish, Riverside, IL. "Water conditions unusually bad. St. Kitts Scuba misplaced our reservations and didn't show until Monday noon instead of Sunday a.m. Bruce Berry, manager, made sure we got all our dives and knocked $50 off package price. Air, radio, GPS and O2 on boat; no drinking water (had to ask for). No facilities for cameras; this is shallow 60 +/ macro heaven. Not much to see past 80 ft. Desert diving unless you hit a wreck or small reef. vis: 3070 ft. water: 7779 degrees. Sometimes dive conditions changed during dives. Divemasters Dennis and Riley knowledgeable and fun. One jump through the hoop and you're free to dive computer limits. Shop and dock damaged by Hurricane so a little shaky. Had to ask for fresh water rinse at dock. Hotel very good, but no beach. Dining out prices comparable to home. Get studio for breakfast/lunch. Eat dinner out. Would go back"

St. Kitts, September, 1997, Nancy & Michael Marmesh, Miami, FL. "Visibility impaired due to ash fall from Montserrat volcano eruption. vis: 30-80 ft. water: 80-84 degrees. Good wreck dives: Tug River Taw, Tug Corinthian and Tug Talata. Riley gave good briefings and he and Dennis knew the sites and found small stuff. Highlights: friendly Hawksbill looking for a back scratch on the Talata at night, being shadowed by a 4 foot remora for 20 minutes; during a safety stop 2 mackerel, 3 Kingfish and a yellow fin tuna. Snorkeling off tug shore at night; several octopi, sea slugs and many lobster. . . . Resort grounds well tended, rooms had sea views;restaurant food very good. Rooms comfortable but showed a little wear. Dive operation a short walk down hill. Dive packages for hotel guests included B.C.s and regulators."
