Sicily Nino's Sport Sub Ciclope, May 1997, Marilyn Koukol. "Don't go for a dive vacation! But, if you're there, take the plunge and check out the huge bristle worms (don't touch); caves filled with beady-eyed shrimp, some old pillars, all that remains of an ancient ship wreck, a sunken Japanese hospital ship and a zillion urchins, sea cucumbers, star fish and wrasse. . . . Water never gets warm (at least not warm to me!). Lots of small anemones, colorful nudibranchs, broken pottery and old ammo. Vis usually 3050 ft. The biggest creature (besides my dive buddy) was a friendly octopus! . . . Great fun to attack a real plate of pasta during a surface interval, and see Mt. Etna spouting steam nearby! For boat charter and air fills and general repairs I go to Nino's Sport Sub Ciclope in Aci Trezza! Ciao!" Copyright 1998 by DSDL, Inc. All rights reserved.
